Humanizing Yourself On Your Web Site: Are you “Alive”

In the final analysis, today's real estate consumer buys YOU. Do you paint a good portrait of yourself on your Web site?

According to a 2007 NAR study, today’s consumers research agents on the Web some 6-9 moths before they contact an agent to help them buy a home or sell their home.  They bookmark good, informative Web sites, of course, and they eventually get around to looking at the "About Me" link on an agent’s site.  They want, in the end, to know more about the agent him or herself.  Most agents have them, pages that tell about the agent and his or her accomplishments.

Most such pages are very similar….and very sterile.

Jay Burnham’s "About Me" page is different….and right on target. Jay is our CyberStar(tm) in Beverly, MA.  You can   view his Web site here.  Jay’s "About Jay Burnham" goes far beyond most such pages.  It features a video on the advantages of hiring a CyberStar(tm) and a well-done video touting his accoplishments and how he can meet the consumer’s needs.  His "Professional Profile" is a bullet list that tells the viewer what he is like as a person.

There are other elements on Jay’s page, and it serves as a good example of what you can do with an often sterile "About Me" page.

You might also want to go to YouTube and see Jay’s other nicely done videos:

Hope you take some lesssons for your own site away from Jay’s page! He knows how to use the power of the Web to reach today’s consumer!

It’s a great day here on the lake in Reston….hope it’s a great day wherever you are, too!
