Real Estate Agents: What Are You Doing To Overcome A Slow Market?

The CyberStars(r) have brainstormed this problem and have shared some terrific solutions. Here's one of my ideas for you!

I was in a real estate office the other day and ran into a couple of Whiners.  I hate Whiners (having been one at one point in my life)!  They were bemoaning the state of their market, grousing, complaining, being everything but proactive.  That’s why I love my CyberStars(r): they are proactive!  Since the downturn in many of their markets, they have gathered via a Monday night conference call or during our Friday Morning Coffee Webinars and brainstormed the problem, coming up with and sharing some wonderful (and successful!) techniques that they use to increase their business under less than ideal conditions.

Here’s an idea of mine that I’ll share with you: call everyone you’ve ever done business with and check in with them.  I know: I hate getting on the telephone, too, but I found a solution.  Just spend 1/2 hour a day calling your sphere of influence and past buyers and sellers.  It works!

Just call and let them know that you’re checking in with them.  They’ll probably have lots of questions for you about the market, and you can work in the "Magic Question": "Do you know of anyone who might need my services to buy or sell?"

And remember: NoWhining!

Try it….I guarantee you you’ll get some business from it.  Remember: just do this 1/2 hour a day….unless it works so well that you want to expand the time!

It’s a great (rainy) day here on the lake in Reston…hope it’s a great day wherever you are, too!
