Money-Making Web Sites: What Should YOUR Site Have?

One of many money-making Web sites that can help you improve your site!

If you want to succeed, do what successful people do, right?  True in life, true in real estate.

So few real estate agent Web sites make money.  More should, so I will, from time-to-time, feature an agent Web site that does two things: meets the consumer’s needs and makes money for the agent.  Hopefully, you will learn from taking a look at it.

Jeff & Paulia Kennedy  This week, I’ll focus on Jeff & Paulia Kennedy’s site, BestofHotSprings.com.  Jeff &  Paulia,  of Trademark Real Estate, Hot Springs, AR, are expert marketers and members of my CyberStars(r).  Their Web site is the core of their business, and there is much to learn by studying it.

Start by studying their "splash page," the site’s initial page.  A really pleasant, easy to read layout, and the flash presentation of area scenes is very well done, giving the visitor a good feeling for their area.  The page isn’t too crowded, since they put important links down the left hand side of the page.

The Featured Listing link leads not only to thumbnails of their listings, conveniently arranged in descending price order, but also a Google map pinpointing each listing.  Move down to the thumbnails and move your cursor over the thumbnail: a larger photo appears.  Click on a thumbnail, and you open a very complete page for each listing: self-running slide show, a Tour Factory virtual tour, complete details on the home and a call to action (the Schedule A Showing link).  They obviously spend time making sure their photos are done well.  All-in-all, a very impressive listing display that brings results!

Lots more to see on Jeff & Paulia’s site, as evidenced by the numerous links.  Take your time and explore them…and learn!

PLEASE NOTE: It is ok to take a concept from another’s Web site.  It is not ok to take text, photos, layouts, etc.  In other words, if you see an interactive map on a site and yours does not have one, it’s ok to put one on your site.  It’s not ok to copy the other agent’s map….or area text, photos, etc!

It’s a beautiful evening here on the lake in Reston…hope it’s a beautiful day/evening wherever you are!
