Marketing Your Listings: Do Your Photos Have “Wow!”?

Making money with your Web site has many components: showing your listings in their best light is real estate marketing targeted to today's consumer!

Here is an experiment for you: take 5 minutes and look at how listings are displayed on five different agent sites.  If you were a home owner, how would you feel about the way your property was shown on the sites you see?  A majority of agent sites don’t do a very good job of showcasing listings.

My CyberStars(r) spend a lot of time learning how to present great photos and virtual tours of their listings, and their results speak for themselves: last year, the CyberStars(r) averaged $115,400 in closed gross commisssions each from Web site inquiries alone.

Here is an example of how photos and great descriptive text can help you make more money from your site: http://tinyurl.com/yqvqq4.  CyberStar(r) Helen South of Lane Realty, North Tamborine, Queensland, Australia focuses on creative, vibrant and inviting photos for each of her listings.

Helen told me she uses "an old Canon digital camera" and PhotoShop to create her stunning photos.  Note how she uses shadows and different frames for her 8 photos here.

Additionally, she writes dynamic text for each listing and works the photos into the text.  Here’s an example:

"There are 2 beautiful double bedrooms situated at the top of the main stairway along with the main bathroom. A further move upwards takes you to the huge, light filled attic with its polished timber floor and built-in storage cabinets. It could be anything from a kids’ rumpus to a private gym, an artist’s dream studio or just another gigantic guest bedroom."

Helen, like many CyberStars(r), does a great job on her site, as you will see.  Take time to study it…lots to learn here!

It’s a beautiful evening here on the lake in Reston…hope it’s a great day wherever you are, too!
